Omar Khayyam's Concept of Infinity
Inscribed upon the desert's ancient scroll,
Where whispering sands in endless cycles blow,
A voice rings out, both wise and yet so bold,
Of Omar Khayyam, secrets he doth show.
He lifts his gaze beyond the fleeting day,
To realms unseen, where stars like diamonds gleam,
A tapestry of night, in grand display,
A canvas vast, a never-ending dream.
He ponders deep the mysteries of time,
A fleeting breath against the cosmic night,
The circling spheres, a song sublime,
An endless dance in everlasting light.
Like fleeting blooms that paint the desert floor,
Our mortal coil, a transient, fading hue,
We yearn for more, a purpose to explore,
A yearning soul that stretches to the new.
But though we die, the cosmos onward rolls,
Unending cycles, whispered in the breeze,
A timeless truth that Khayyam's wisdom holds,
A whisper caught amongst the ancient trees.
So let us raise a cup to life's brief stay,
And find our solace in the starry sky,
For though we fade, the universe holds sway,
An endless dance where spirits never die.
